The Rocking Horse Music Club is a songwriting and performing collaboration formed by producer/songwriter Brian Coombes, singer/songwriter Justin Cohn, and singer/songwriter Patrik Gochez, along with the talents of Rocking Horse Studio musicians Brenden Harisiades, Mike McAdam, Myron Kibbee, and Eric Wagley. The band’s eclectic style blends progressive rock with elements of baroque and chamber pop, gospel, fusion, indie folk, and art rock. The line-up for the 2025 version of the band includes:

In addition to the core band, Rocking Horse Music Club has also featured frequent contributions from its talented friends, including Rick Black (keyboards), Juli Finn (guitar), Jon Finn (guitar), Bobby Rice (drums), Jeremy Harman (cello), Wesley Thurber (trumpet), Richard Gardzina (sax), Jenna Yagjian (violin), Kate St John (oboe & english horn), Brittany Laine (vocals), Michelle Coombes (vocals), Caroline Carter (vocals), Evelyn Cormier (vocals), Eric Smith (percussion), and co-producer Josh Kimball (guitar & programming).
The band has recorded three albums: Every Change of Seasons (2018), Which Way the Wind Blows (2019), and Circus of Wire Dolls (2023). The albums have featured special guest appearances from Steve Hackett (Genesis), John Helliwell (Supertramp), Greg Hawkes (the Cars), Kenwood Dennard (Brand X), Noel McCalla, Chris Difford (Squeeze), David Cross (King Crimson), Tim Bowness, John Hackett, Amy Birks, Sing Gospel, and others.
The band’s debut single, Everywhere is Home, received an Independent Music Award in 2019. They received a Best Supergroup award from New Hampshire Magazine later that same year.
The band toured the UK in 2018, including a performance for the British Prime Minister. In 2019, the band performed their tribute to original Genesis guitarist Anthony Phillips at two sold out shows at Trading Boundaries in East Sussex UK.
Rocking Horse Music Club will release a new album in April 2025.
The members of the Rocking Horse Music Club have had illustrious careers in the music individually and collectively.
Brian Coombes is an award-winning producer, songwriter, musician and owner of Rocking Horse Studio in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. In addition to his work at Rocking Horse, he has also produced projects at Abbey Road in London, Sun Studio in Memphis, and Fisher Lane Farm in Chiddingfold (England).
Prior to Rocking Horse, Brian was a founding member of Tristan Park, a progressive rock band that was signed to the British record label, GFT. The band recorded four albums and toured extensively in Europe and North America before going into hiatus in 1998. After Tristan Park, Brian recorded a album with his wife, using the name Waking in the Blue. That album features guest appearances from Ian McDonald (King Crimson) and Chris Difford (Squeeze).
Brian has received various honors for his production work. In 2015, he received a “Producer of the Year” award from the New England Music Awards. In 2014, he received two Emmy award nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Justin Cohn is a singer/songwriter from rural New Hampshire. His music blends elements of folk, rock, pop, and soul into songs about love, truth, and heartache. His debut ep, All Aglow, was released in 2016, produced by Brian Coombes. As a solo musician, he performs regularly throughout New England. He is currently working on a new solo album.
Patrik Gochez is best known for his work with the Hats, an award-winning pop-rock group from New England. The band has released three records, Fake it Til You Make a Hit (2014), an EP (2016), and Chemical Drippers (2018). Patrik is currently working on a new solo album.
